ST. JOSEPH’S HOSPITAL CONTINUES TO OPERATE ON AN EMERGENCY BASIS

BUCKHANNON, WV – St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon has been operating on an emergency basis since Friday, June 29thdue to power outages.  On Saturday, June 30th, the hospital was moved to Black Diversion status due to extreme temperatures in vital clinical areas of the hospital.  The hospital is not accepting obstetrical patients or patients transported by ambulance at this time.   The Emergency Department is open and accepting walk-in patients.

Current in-patients were offered the choice to be transferred to other facilities due to the lack of air conditioning.  Due to heat concerns, the hospital has asked that visitation of patients in the hospital be limited.

All St. Joseph’s Physicians’ offices will be closed on Monday, July 2nd.    Patients with appointments are asked to call the appropriate office to reschedule.
